पीएम-सूर्य घर: Free Electricity Scheme ही में, प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने बताया कि एक करोड़ से अधिक परिवार सोलर रूफटॉप योजना पीएम-सूर्य घर: मुफ्त बिजली योजना के लिए पंजीकरण करा चुके हैं।यह एक केंद्रीय योजना है जिसका लक्ष्य भारत में एक करोड़ घरों को मुफ्त बिजली प्रदान करना है, जो छत पर सौर बिजली इकाई स्थापित करने का विकल्प चुनते हैं। इस योजना से परिवारों को हर महीने 300 यूनिट बिजली मुफ्त मिल सकेगी। यह योजना 2 किलोवाट क्षमता तक के सिस्टम के लिए सौर इकाई लागत का 60% और 2 से 3 किलोवाट क्षमता के सिस्टम के लिए अतिरिक्त सिस्टम लागत का 40% सब्सिडी प्रदान करती है। मौजूदा बेंचमार्क कीमतों पर, 1 किलोवाट सिस्टम के लिए 30,000 रुपये, 2 किलोवाट सिस्टम के लिए 60,000 रुपये और 3 किलोवाट सिस्टम या उससे अधिक के लिए 78,000 रुपये की सब्सिडी होगी।
